There's a woodworkers truism suggesting You can never have enough G-clamps.
Whilst this is essentially true, what i've realised through 30 odd years of buying odd one or two's, mostly second hand from Brick Lane market, is that having lots of different types offers something extra.
Probably most people would aspire to having matching sets, like they do with chairs or cutlery, but for me there is a wonderful richness in the variety of types.
Vive la difference, as they say in France.
