With graphic designers No Days Off, we were invited to make something for the V&A Friday late event. Patrick sugested a capsule for doing nothing in, which felt right amongst so much activity in such a huge baroque building filled with so many busy things.
We situated a capsule for doing nothing adjacent to one of the most valuable objects in the museum, a Florentine marble statue by Giovanni Bologna; Samson Slaying a Philistine (C 1562).
Visitors were invited to sit in a sealed soft white insulated interior for three minutes, after leaving coat, shoes, watch, phone, etc, with the attendant.
Each participant received a specially designed certificate for doing nothing.
